Dignity, Compassion, Expertise

Stricken with Alzheimer's Disease and recently widowed, Jacob lives alone in the home he has maintained for 50 years. In these days he is more forgetful, often locking himself out of the house, leaving the stove on, and forgetting to take his medicine. That is why his niece helped him arrange for the services of ElderCare at Home. Now, as part of a life-long ElderCare plan, Jacob's personal Care Manager supervises his caregiver, pays his bills, arranges social activities, accompanies him to doctors appointments, provides emotional support, and monitors his changing needs.

"I want to live at home.

It's what I want.

It's who I am."

The phrase "Home is where the heart is" is never more poignant then to an elderly person wishing to remain in their own familiar surroundings. Home means maintaining family and social connections and dignity. ElderCare at Home understands the special and constantly changing needs of the elderly. We know how important it is for an older person to maintain their independence even though their health may be failing them and their pride may be keeping them from accepting assistance.

The experienced, caring professionals at ElderCare at Home do much more than help manage the tasks of daily living. We view each person as the one-of-a-kind individual they are, and we do everything possible to satisfy the particular needs and desire of our clients. Nearly 17 years of experience has given us the insight and ability to identify the problems and find the appropriate solutions which help our clients live out their lives in the one environment that provides them the most comfort, safety, and spiritual well-being - home.

The ElderCare at Home Care Manager arranged for daily in-home assistance for Mary and helped her re-establish meaningful social activities. The Care Manager's supportive counseling has enabled Karen and her mom to better cope with the changes in their lives and their relationship. No, Mary is functioning well, Karen has her own life back, and mother and daughter are enjoying each other again.

"Ensuring that Mom is getting the care she needs is a new role for me. I need some guidance. I need some help."

Dr. Matthews has treated Lorraine for 10 years. After her husband died two years ago, Lorraine became increasingly depressed and began losing weight. When Dr. Matthews didn't see an improvement in her condition, he suspected Lorraine was forgetting to take the medication and nutritional supplements he had prescribed. During her regular visits, he could tell by their long conversations that she was lonely and needed someone to talk to. Dr. Matthews referred Lorraine to ElderCare at Home, which arranged for a caregiver to be with her 6 hours a day. Now she has the companionship she needs. They shop and cook together so Lorraine is gaining weight. By having regular companionship and receiving reminders to take her medication, her depression has greatly alleviated. Dr. Matthews is delighted to see his patient thriving once again..
