Tuesday Tips for Caregivers – Laughter is the Best Medicine

Hello and welcome to our Tuesday Tips for Caregivers. Have you smiled or laughed about something today? If your answer is no then it is important to stop, take a deep breath and recognize where you are in this very moment. We live in a world that is constant motion and often times caregivers get so caught up in the day to day tasks, challenges and needs of their loved one(s) that you don’t take a second to stop and smell the roses or laugh and experience the joys that life can bring.

At ElderCare at Home we are cognizant of the wave of emotions that being a caregiver often brings.

There are challenges that arise almost every day and/or the needs of your loved one may become more complex as time progresses. We have found that when you are consumed by caring for your loved one and meeting there needs, laughter and joy are prescriptions that no doctor can write, and yet they serve as great medications for those who are overwhelmed and in need of something to smile about again.

There is no manual to parenting and there are no manuals for being a caregiver because the needs of each of our loved ones are more different than they are similar. At ElderCare at Home we are committed to bringing joy to our clients and their loved ones because we know that laughter is the best medicine.
